"How much does it cost to rent a Tesla?" The honest answer: it depends on the model and the duration. Tesla Model 3 daily rates start around $135. Model Y: $165–$195. Model X: $295–$395. Model S: $295–$395 standard, $495–$695 Plaid. Cybertruck: $495–$895 depending on city and season. Monthly electric car rental is the better deal for longer-term bookings — typically 20–30% below the daily equivalent. Monthly rates: Model 3 from $2,400, Model Y from $2,900, Model X and Model S from $4,800, Model S Plaid from $6,800, Cybertruck from $7,500. Every quote includes commercial insurance, charging setup, Supercharger access, and 24/7 concierge.
Monthly electric car rentals remain one of the most popular ways to experience an EV before making a long-term ownership decision. Renters use monthly rentals to drive a Tesla for 30 days before committing to a $50,000–$150,000 purchase. The Model 3 and Model Y dominate the test-drive volume; the Model S Plaid and Cybertruck see more pre-purchase trial bookings ahead of waitlist conversions. Monthly rates run 20–30% below the daily equivalent and include the same Supercharger access, charging cables, and concierge support as daily bookings.
The Tesla Supercharger network covers most of the US interstate system with 30-minute charging stops typically 100–200 miles apart. Our concierge pre-plans the route for any trip over 200 miles — common multi-day routes include Los Angeles to San Francisco along Highway 1, Miami to Key West, Austin to Marfa, and Seattle to Vancouver. Every rental includes Supercharger account access, charging cables for backup non-Tesla stations, and a printed/digital route map with charging stop times.
Companies with carbon-reduction targets increasingly book EV rentals for executive travel and client visits. Luxury electric car rental demand continues to grow among companies seeking premium transportation with lower emissions and modern technology features. The Tesla Model S, Model X, and Model Y handle most corporate travel duties. Our concierge handles airport delivery, executive flight tracking, and multi-day rental coordination through the same channel that runs the executive luxury rental category. Companies on multi-month bookings receive corporate billing setup.
The Tesla Cybertruck is the single most-booked vehicle in our EV fleet for music videos, brand campaigns, and social content. Its angular silhouette photographs from every angle, and the Cybertruck reservation list is several months long for many production schedules. The Model S Plaid is the second-most-booked vehicle for performance content (1.99-second 0–60). Our concierge handles multi-day production reservations, location-to-location moves, and extended studio holds.
First-time EV renters typically need 15 minutes of orientation before driving away — charging, regenerative braking, single-pedal driving, Autopilot setup, and trip planning. Our concierge runs the orientation at delivery for every first-time Tesla renter, covering both the cabin software (touchscreen, key card, mobile app) and the operational basics (Supercharger location, charging cable use, range management). By the end of the orientation, most renters are comfortable. By the end of the first day, most renters are considering whether to buy one.

An EV rental feels different from the moment you pull away. Instant torque replaces traditional acceleration — no gears, no rev-up, just immediate response. The cabin remains remarkably quiet, while regenerative braking slows the vehicle as soon as the driver lifts off the accelerator, making single-pedal driving possible in many situations. The Tesla Model S Plaid reaches 60 mph in just 1.99 seconds, delivering performance that rivals many modern supercars. For many renters, an electric car rental serves as a real-world test drive before ownership. A few days or weeks behind the wheel provides valuable insight into charging routines, range requirements, software features, and everyday EV practicality. First-time Tesla renters typically adapt within minutes. The touchscreen controls most vehicle functions, Autopilot introduces a new style of highway driving, and charging quickly becomes second nature. To ensure a smooth experience, our team provides a 15-minute walkthrough at delivery covering controls, driving modes, Autopilot setup, Supercharger procedures, charging equipment, and key vehicle features before the rental begins.

Our Story
Electric car rental demand has grown faster than any category in the premium rental industry over the past five years. Drivers want to test before buying. Companies want to fulfill sustainability mandates. Content creators want the Cybertruck for the camera. Exotic Car Rentals has operated in the premium car rental industry since 2010 and added the EV category as the Tesla lineup matured, now operating across 21 US cities.
The CEO and owner built the company from a small collection into the current vetted-operator platform, partnering only with fleet operators who clear fixed standards on vehicle condition, insurance, customer service, and EV-specific operational support. We operate under Rent FYV, our parent company and luxury car rental marketplace. Together, the platforms cover one of the most comprehensive premium car rental networks in the United States, headquartered in FL 33139.
Charging at Tesla Superchargers is billed back to you at cost — typically $0.25–$0.40 per kWh, or about $15–$25 for a full session. Level 2 charging at hotels, shopping centers, and destination locations is often free. Home charging on the included mobile connector is on your home electricity bill (about $5–$15 for a full charge). Some monthly bookings include a fixed charging credit; ask the concierge for current options.
